Below is the "Read me first" file on the Flash Drive:
Summer 2016
Dear Don & Pat,
This is a gift for you and your family. This thumb drives contains numerous Genealogy records, documents and photos.
The items are:
1) A complete set of 1735 high resolution titled JPEGs for every photograph and sequenced in chronological order by file date. The folder is entitled “100 Years of Photos - 26 June 2016.”
2) A Webpage folder to display all 1735 titled photos on 39 webpages. Open the webpage by double clicking on the file “index.html” in the folder entitled “100 Years of Photos Website - 26 June 2016.”
3) A slideshow in “.m4v format” set to music of all 1735 photos in order including sub-titles for each photo. The slideshow is entitled “One Hundred Years of Photos - 1873 to 1969.”
4) The latest revision of the document “Four Hundred Years in America” and you open the file by double clicking on Four Hundred Years in America v4.0.htm located in the folder entitled Four Hundred Years in America - Summer 2016. The media folder entitled “Four Hundred Years in America v4.0_files” needs to be right next to the html file, so move the folder intact so the pair of files remain together.
5) Our family tree is in the folder of the same name and is opened by double clicking on “index.html” in that folder.
6) A master index of the entire family tree is in the folder entitled “Reunion Master Index Website” and is opened by double clicking on the file named “wc_toc.htm.”
7) Four Mark Twain High School Yearbook are in the folder “MTHS Yearbooks”. The yearbooks are for years 1960 through 1963, my high school years. I made these files for all of my classmates for our 50th Reunion.
8) The document entitled “One Hundred Years of Family Photos.pdf” is a PDF of the three part books you received in August, 2016 at our reunion gathering at the house in Perry.
9) Ignore the folder SP Service.
The oldest photo is from an 1873 tintype of Joel Warner Curtis and Rosalina White on their wedding day. The photos were scanned from 4 albums Mom made in 1970 and from an album Sarah Jo made. Mother divided her photo collection into 4 albums for the 3 of us and one for her. When the 4 albums were put together, a “complete picture” evolved as you will see.
Someday your kids may have an historical interest in our family. Please make sure your kids know to pass along the files to their kids and grandkids.
